There are many good code sites on the net. That's why I'm doing only a quick overview here with no pics to look up the codes for current methods.

Notice that most unreleased codes are NOT available yet. Most sides guess them from unreleased picture's names, but they will only be available with Charles if they are in the xmls already (these are much fewer than the "unreleased" you see on the fv-sites).

• Good russian codesite: http://telme-bg.com/farm.php?ng=animal
• Facebot, a variation of the FV-Bot, has a plugin that extracts all itemcodes and names of newest items.xml and sorts them in categories. To try facebot register in their forum see the facebot website for tutorials. I also did an overview on facebot plugins and differences to FV Bot here.

Somehow people lost interest in updating mystery box/game codes since there are no methods available to get them. Right,there are no methods at the moment to get any of the below items. But updating would be wise because then you don't have to search around for items you missed if there ever will be a new method.

How to get and read new itemcodes

New: Facebot has got a plugin (fvXML) that extracts all itemcodes and names of newest items.xml and sorts them in categories. To get facebot see the facebot website for download and tutorials. For help see the support forum. See a short overview regarding both bots also on this page.

But even without fvXML every botuser, actually every player, can find all new and valid codes by himself. So here is a FAQ about getting and reading xmls:

Q.: What is the newest available horse?
The example given is the new Palouse Horse (appaloosa_white).

Go to your your farmville-xml folder (c:\BOTFOLDER\farmville-xml) and open the newest 41368_StorageConfig.xml (number changes) with an editor like notepad or notepad++ (great editor, get it here: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ ). Scroll down or search for "horses". You see a long list of horses, and at the end you read:

<itemName>horse_camargue_female</itemName>
<itemName>horse_alien</itemName>
<itemName>appaloosa_white</itemName>

The last entry is the newest horse.

Q.: When will an item be released, what will it cost on the market etc.?
To get more info about an item open another xml-file, the 41368_items.xml and search for "appaloosa_white". You will see:

And so on. This means, it is available on 8/27 until 9/08, it will be buyable for cash and it will cost 26fv$ in the market. You can send it as a present (present = true) but not as a free gift (giftable = false).

Q.: Can i get an item that is not listed in the xml?
No, you can't get an item with any method if this item is NOT included in the items.xml yet.

Q.: But i've already seen a code for it on some sites...
The many other unreleased itempictures and codes you see on most fv-sites are mostly not from the xml, but from the flashanimations and pictures on z* servers. One example is http://fvcodes.koolhost.com/. But these codes might change when they are finally in the xml, usually they are staying the same, but not always.
Check them in your items.xml if you are unsure about which code is right.

Q.: What if i only know the ingame name of the item, not the code?
Look up the code in another xml, the FlashLocaleXML.xml.

Q.: What if i'm not using the bot and still want to get/read the xmls?
All xml-files are not only in your botfolder, but also a) in your browser cache, b) easy to save from Charles' folders, if you log your stream with Charles and c) on z* servers.
