To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! 1. Open a new transparent image, size= 400 X 500 2. Set your foreground color to some color choice. Right-click on shapes tool and choose Ellipse Tool 3. Right-click on the icon of the ellipse tool in the top tool options bar. Set the tool to draw a circle. 4. Near the top, draw a circle. 5. Right-click on the circle layer and choose Rasterize Layer 6. Right-click on the shapes tool and choose Rectangle Tool 7. Draw a rectangle through the diameter of the circle and all the way down the rest of the height of the image. 8. In the top menu, click Layer > Merge Visible. 9. With the magic wand, click on the arch shape to select it. 10. In the top menu, click Selection > Modify > Contract. Contract by 15 pixels. 11. Press the delete key on the keyboard. 12. In the top menu, click Select > Deselect. 13. In the top menu, click Image > Trim. Choose only transparent area. 14. Now save this arch as a .psd format image for later use! |
